Kim is a Certified Massage Therapist and a Board Certified Nutrition and Health coach with a license from the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She continues her education through the Institute for Functional Medicine and other seminars and summits dedicated to the practice of nutrition and health. Kim focuses on overall wellness, gut health, autoimmune disease, food allergies, and athletic performance. Most importantly, she aims to help people simply find the route to their own optimal health and wellness so they can achieve their highest quality of life.
Kim’s path into health and wellness began with massage therapy. As a little girl Kim’s mom asked for deep tissue work. This request jumpstarted Kim’s love of helping others feel better and led to Kim’s certification in massage therapy from the Boulder College of Massage in 1989. Kim has been practicing deep tissue ever since, helping hundreds of people overcome injuries, muscle imbalance, and stress.
Kim’s interest in health and wellness expanded from deep tissue work to nutrition, leading to a B.S. from the University of Colorado Boulder with further education from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Kim has a deep understanding about the interplay of sports, gut function, and autoimmune disease. Kim was working as a massage therapist, training for Ironman, and carrying a full load in college. The stress load was what turned on the “switch” to her genetic predisposition to two autoimmune diseases; Graves and Celiac. She also discovered that she was severely intolerant to dairy. These events spurred Kim’s curiosity about how food, stress, and lifestyle affect genetic expression of disease and how that impacts our general health. In a quest for knowledge about how to mitigate her own symptoms while pursuing a full athletic life that Kim decided to go to school for a deeper, more rounded education.
Through personal experience, working with clients, and her expansive education, Kim brings to you a wealth of knowledge. Kim likes to look at the person as a whole, but with attention to the small details, to create and individualize program for each client using nutrition, lifestyle suggestions, and natural supplementation.
